1. Our Commitment

Luxefloor & Co is committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner. We recognise that our activities — including the supply, delivery, and installation of flooring products — have an impact on the environment, and we are dedicated to minimising that impact wherever possible.

This policy sets out our approach to environmental management, including responsible sourcing, energy use, transport, and — critically — the management and disposal of waste generated during our work.

2. Responsible Sourcing

• We prioritise suppliers who hold recognised environmental certifications such as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification)
• We seek to stock products with low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions to protect indoor air quality and reduce environmental impact
• We continually review our supply chain to assess and improve environmental performance

3. Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

• We plan delivery routes efficiently to minimise unnecessary mileage
• We consolidate deliveries where possible to reduce the number of vehicle journeys
• We use recyclable or minimal packaging where practicable
• We encourage staff to adopt environmentally conscious practices in all aspects of their work

4. Waste Management Policy

The management of waste is a core part of our environmental commitment. Flooring installation inevitably produces off-cuts, packaging, underlay trimmings, and in some cases old or damaged flooring that is being replaced. We take a responsible approach to all waste arising from our work.

Our Approach to On-Site Waste

• We minimise waste generation through accurate measurement, careful planning, and efficient cutting practices
• Off-cuts and unused materials in good condition are retained for future use where possible
• Packaging materials — including cardboard, polythene, and foam — are separated for recycling
• Adhesive containers, primers, and chemical waste are disposed of in compliance with hazardous waste regulations

Registered Waste Facilities

We only use waste carriers and disposal facilities that hold the appropriate Environment Agency (EA) registration or equivalent devolved authority permits. We maintain records of all waste transfer notes as required under the Duty of Care regulations under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

5. Hazardous Waste

Certain flooring-related materials — including solvent-based adhesives, primers, and some adhesive-backed products — may be classified as hazardous waste when disposed of. We ensure these materials are:

• Identified and segregated from general waste on site
• Stored safely in sealed containers prior to collection
• Collected only by licensed hazardous waste carriers
• Accompanied by the appropriate consignment notes

6. Continual Improvement

We are committed to continually improving our environmental performance. We will review this policy annually, set measurable environmental objectives, and monitor our progress against them. We welcome feedback from clients, staff, and partners on how we can do better.
